Challenge
To allow the modernisation program to fit within the clients yearly capitalization expense budgets. Starting in 2012, this modernisation was completed in 3 stages (1 elevator per year). The first stage saw the completion of elevator 3 which included dual entry doors and the installation of the group control system (dispatching controller). Technical challenges included the fitting of electronic overlays to the existing Otis relay and contactor controllers (elevators 1 & 2) so the group controller could communicate with them via serial network.
